Shalini Uppu
Yale University Alumna, Former Yale University, University of Chicago, and Duke University Admissions Officer
Shalini grew up in Miami and attended Miami Palmetto Senior High. While at Yale, she worked in the Admissions Office as a Panelist and Senior Interviewer. She went on to a professional career in admissions, serving in some of the most elite undergraduate and graduate admissions offices in the country, including Duke and University of Chicago. Having personally reviewed thousands of applications, interviewed hundreds of applicants, and chaired admissions committees with final decision-making authority, Shalini is passionate about supporting students and families through the complex but rewarding college admissions process.
Lauren Carpenter
Princeton University Alumna, COO of Carpenter Fine Violins & Collectibles, CEO of Salome Chamber Orchestra
A Presidential Scholar and two-time winner of the Princeton University Concerto Competition, Lauren graduated from Princeton University Magna Cum Laude with an A.B. in Politics and four minors. A former Google employee, she co-founded Carpenter Fine Violins & Collectibles, a leading company in fine musical instruments. In 2009, she co-founded the Salome Chamber Orchestra in NYC, performing at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and raising over $5 million for partner charities. She serves on multiple boards, including the Princeton University Music Department Committee, and brings a unique perspective on elite achievement and the arts.
